Hi I'm Alex Anderson

I'm from Gilbert Arizona, I'm a dancer, and currently serving a mission in southern Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a ballroom and hip hop dancer, I started dancing my Freshman year of High school and loved it! I've been able to be on a ballroom team for about 5 years. I love to play basketball with my friends and play church ball! I have 4 sisters and 1 brother that I care a lot for. One of my favorite bands is 21 Pilots.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family my whole life, whenever I heard people say "I know this church is true" I believed them, but I didn't quite know for myself. It wasn't until I decided to serve a mission when I decided I needed to gain a testimony of my own. I knew that one of the first things I needed to do was find out if the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. The most remarkable promise in the Book of Mormon is this: "3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. I took that promise to heart, and truly did as I suggests, and I know that the Book of Mormon is true because of it, and threw even more prayer I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is Christ's church on the earth today. This invitation is the same one I leave with everyone investigating the church in Georgia, to read it, and pray and ask God if it's true. I know you will receive your answer, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by preaching the Gospel to all those who are willing to listen, Currently I'm serving a mission and have the opportunity every day to share what I know to be true about our savior Jesus Christ. I try to fulfill this calling to the best of my abilities and try to use ALL of my talents to connect with the people, especially my talent to dance! I know the happiness that this Gospel has brought me and will continue to share this message to all those who are willing to hear it for the rest of my life, to try to bring that same happiness to others that I have.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Alex Anderson
We believe the bible to be the word of God, we also believe in another testament of Jesus Christ to be the word of God. A book called " The Book of Mormon" Named after a prophet from the book (Mormon being his name) when our church was first organized people new that the Book of Mormon was something that made us stand out from the rest of the religions so they nicknamed us "Mormons".
