Hi I'm Katie

I love music. I am a cosmetologist. I'm a mormon.

About Me

For many years, I have participated in many choirs, including a show choir in my community. I went to beauty school in high school, and have now finished out my program. I have a love for making people feel their very best. I love to spread happiness everywhere I go through my love of puns and silly humor.

Why I am a Mormon

I will admit I have spent time wondering what I was getting in return for all of my efforts to be good. But as I look back on my life thus far, I realize just how freeing obedience to God is. It provides me freedom by encouraging me to stay far from any addictive materials, therefore freeing me from being enslaved by addictions. It protects me from ever being truly alone, providing me with a ward family I can turn to physically and a loving God I can turn to in prayer. It keeps me from being discouraged while making decisions because I have been taught that the savior will help me. The commandment to keep the sabbath day holy allows me a much needed day of rest, without feeling guilty for not working. Knowledge of an after life takes away a permanent pain often felt by those who lose loved ones, and allows the sorrow to only be temporary, as we know we can be with them again. I have found that when I live what this gospel teaches, THAT is when the blessings flow in, and I feel truly happy. THIS is the good news of the gospel. I want everyone to know that even though we all have challenges unique to every soul, we also all are children of our God. We all have a loving brother, Jesus Christ, who was trusted to come down to save us all, to set us free from our imperfections, our sorrows, and even our fears. There are many things that hold us captive; sin, mental illness, physical illness, fear and our own wrongdoings. But the best knowledge I possess is that the atonement covers ALL. It provides strength, a way to return to heaven one day, and a way to return to our former cleanliness after we falter. It can heal, protect and wipe away. To me, that is worth fighting every temptation on this earth in order to prove to my father in heaven that I am worthy of His presence and can be trusted to obey him. This is the knowledge that our church can offer!! That rules and laws are not restricting, but protecting, and that it truly sets us free and sets us apart from the world.

How I live my faith

I have sung many times in church meetings, large and small. In front of youth and adults. I have been a chorister for my church on many occasions, officially and stepping in for others. I love to share my testimony through music and through giving talks. I am serving a mission in the Ohio Cincinnati Mission, to try to spread the love and happiness I have known because of it.
