Hi I'm Sariah Farmer

I'm a News Media major at BYU. I play the piano and the ukulele. I am going to serve a mission in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished a year of college and I am a News Media major because I believe everyone has a story to tell and I am the one who has the privilege to help people tell their stories. I love to make videos and I love music. I can play the piano, guitar, and ukulele. I love to run and go on walks with my dogs. I played softball for a year during high school. I love to hang out with friends, watch movies, and try to have fun. I am A HUGE Taylor Swift fan and have traveled over 1,500 miles to go to her concerts. I was just called to be a missionary and I will be serving in California.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) so I was raised in the church. However, I have come to know for myself of the truthfulness of the principles taught. I first read the The Book of Mormon when I was eight years old. I prayed to God to know if it was true and I knew it was true. I have continued to read the book and feel of the great love of God. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ gives us peace and hope which is why I am serving a mission for 18 months to share this message with others. There are many other great things that inspire my faith such as temples, modern day prophets and apostles, and knowing that families can be together forever!

How I live my faith

I am going to serve as a full-time missionary for 18 months to share what I believe brings peace and happiness. I just try to be a good friend to those around me. I read the scriptures everyday because I know that they contain the truth. Whenever I have doubts or questions I turn to the scriptures or I pray to God for guidance. I know that God is always listening to our prayers and he answers his children in his own time and his own way. I strive to be honest in all my dealings with my fellow men. As a journalist I strive to only report the truth and be honest in my reporting. Every week I participate in Family Home Evening with my family which is a special time where we teach one another, have a game or activity and treats. It was once said that a person can do no greater work than within the walls of their own home and so I strive to do my best at home.
