Hi I'm EMILY

I grew up in South Jordan, Ut. I go to college. I work a part time job at a fast food place. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student and during the summers I work at a fast food joint. During high school I devoted my time to the theatre programs and the school newspaper. Now I'm a journalism major and my all time favorite musical is "A Little Princess". In my spare time I love reading and watching movies. I will joyfully read anything from Harry Potter to Frankenstein to Jane Eyre, but I have to admit that most of my favorite movies are Disney. I think mostly I'm just a fan of stories. I like having the opportunity to escape into somebody else's life for a little while, and then come back to my own with a fresh, new perspective.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church, and honestly, I think I must be one of the luckiest people on this earth to have had that opportunity. I have been blessed with so much in my life, and now I want to bless others. I am a Mormon because I am certain that there is nothing else that I could be that would bring me this much happiness and this much comfort. The church is constant and unchanging, and it has given me a foundation on which I can build a life full of love. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon has taught me that I can turn to Christ when I face trials. Being a Mormon has taught me that I have a savior who loves me, and who suffered for me. He suffered so that I can be pure, and so that I can be happy. When I struggle I know that He knows how I feel, and that He can help me overcome anything. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon gives me strength.

How I live my faith

In my singles ward at college I had a calling helping out with the technology in the Sunday school classes (basically plugging in cords and making videos play), and at least once a month my partner and I would visit a couple of other girls in the ward to bring them treats and a lesson and mostly just to make friends. I think one of the most important components of this church is how we can all unify and be there for each other, because no one can make it through this life alone, and that is why I love doing this for my fellow ward members. In a couple of months I will be leaving to serve a mission for the church. I get to spend 18 months of my life doing nothing but teaching people about the joy of repentance and the love that our Father in Heaven has for each and every one of us. I couldn't be more excited. :D
