Hi I'm McKinzie

I have five sibling. We love to beat up on each other. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is McKinzie. I like to hike, I have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It was literally the best two weeks of my life. The sunrise from the top was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I also like to sing, I study opera at Weber State University. This year, I was in an opera, Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro). It was such a cool experience because we did it in a pretty large auditorium with no microphones. I had the opportunity to be in a duet which was really exciting for me as a first year college student.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I do not believe in coincidences. When I ask for help Heavenly Father is always there. Prayer is real. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. I cannot deny the small miracles I see everyday. My family is the most important thing in my life. Knowing that I can be with them forever gives me a lot of peace. I have a sister with a disability. I am so excited for the day that I can talk to her. I know God lives, and that He loves me. This is why I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love attending weekly meetings. I feel like my spiritual cup is replenished every time. I have a calling as a visiting teaching supervisor. Visiting teaching is monthly visits to each woman in the congregation to make sure they are doing well and so they know they have people who care about them. As visiting teaching supervisor, I keep records on the visits the women in our ward make each month. We try to make sure no one falls through the cracks. Visiting teaching has been a real blessing in my life. Right after I moved out, I had no one, the reason I made friends was visiting teaching. My friends became the people I visited.
