Hi I'm Kyla

I've grown up in Utah. I'm a student at BYU. I'm getting ready to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah County my whole life. Currently I am a BYU student who hasn't gotten into a major program yet, but I'm interested in the Media Arts program. I've received a mission call to the Canada Calgary mission and will be leaving this summer! I've always been interested in the fine arts, and have a passion for theatre and choir especially. Filmmaking is also a hobby of mine. I've got amazing parents, brothers, and dog, and while we aren't perfect, we're there for each other.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love God, I know He loves me, and I know He has a plan for me. While my paternal Mormon family history stretches back to pioneer times, my maternal grandparents are converts. They talked to missionaries in Hawaii when my grandfather was stationed there while he was in the Navy. They knew the gospel to be true and joined the church. My mother then, having grown up as a Mormon, wanted to go to Brigham Young University for college, and met my father there. They've raised my brothers and me in this church, and taught me to love God and keep the commandments. As I've done my best to read the scriptures and pray every day, I've gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of His gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continually striving to become more like Christ: loving and serving others, praying often, and reading the scriptures, to name a few ways. In church, I've participated in choir, which helps me feel the Spirit when we sing in our Sunday meetings. I've also helped plan activities both when I was in the youth program and more recently in the young single adult program.
