Hi I'm Spencer

I'm from Idaho, I love Basketball and Music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Spencer. I played basketball in high school all four years, and love to watch it as well. I and am a religious follower of the NBA, particularly the Portland Trail Blazers, which has been my favorite team for many years, through thick and thin. On my spare time other than play basketball, I love to sing, and listen to music, go hiking, boating, and anything outside. I will attend BYU in Provo, Utah, following a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. Louis Missouri.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church, so I have been taught from a young age the many lessons and doctrines of the Church, but my upbringing and my parents are not why I continue to be an active member, or why I have decided to serve a mission. There is something special about the Church. There is a spirit that cannot be felt elsewhere, and special blessings that come from following Jesus Christ. The gospel brings me great joy, and an abundance of blessings, and not only to I want to continue to receive those, but I want to bless my family and future family with them, and I want to share my joy with the whole earth. I know that Jesus Christ's gospel is on the earth today, and that it is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to be a follower of Christ is to participate in service for members of our church, the community, and my family. One way in which I serve others is through my calling as a home teacher. My father is my companion and we go to the home of members in our ward every month, as a social catch-up, and as a way to ask if we can help them in any way, and to share a spiritual message. I also attend early morning seminary at 6:30 am every morning during the school year. It's hard to do every day, but the blessing and knowledge that I gain from attending are amazing! One of the best things about serving in the church are the people. I serve a lot with other young men my age from ages 16-18, and they are my best friends. We have awesome discussions about the gospel and we all learn and teach each other on a regular basis.
