Hi I'm Matt Allred

I am a lover of running, music, dogs, and traveling. Best of all, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a person who loves music. Music has always been a big part of my life, from playing the trumpet in my school band, to singing in ward choir, to simply listening to music with my friends. In my free time, when I'm not listening to music, I love to run! (Weird, right?!) Running is my way of clearing my head and relaxing after a long day at school or work. I also love a good book. Favorites of mine include Harry Potter and anything by Brandon Sanderson.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't even know how to put the amount of love and gratitude that I have into words. I have made some very serious mistakes in my life, but, through Christ's Atonement and grace, I have been made whole again. I can't imagine where my life would be without the Gospel. Everything that I have and everything that I am is because of this church and because of Christ. I know that Christ suffered and died for me individually, just as he suffered and died for you. He knows each of us individually and by name. He knows exactly what we are feeling and how to help us. I will be forever grateful for his sacrifice and try to be worthy of His love every day.

How I live my faith

I have always tried to be an active member of my ward. I have helped plan many youth activities for my ward. I try to reach out and include everyone in my neighborhood to come and have a great time, whether it be playing basketball or completing a service project for someone in our community. What I've loved most about my callings is the many opportunities that I have had to serve and help others.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Matt Allred
The Book of Mormon is another witness and testimony of Jesus Christ. The book contains writings from ancient prophets on the American continent. The first, a prophet named Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. until God warned him to leave before it was destroyed. Through the guidance of God, Lehi and his family were brought to the American continent. His descendants became a great nation. Prophets continued to be called from this nation. The Book of Mormon is a collection of these writings. The prophets in the book testify of Christ, of His divine mission, and of His Atonement. Everything written in the Book of Mormon supports what is said in the Bible. Show more Show less
