Hi I'm Ruth

I'm the oldest of eleven children. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am the oldest of eleven children. I love Jane Austen and chocolate. I love to play sports, especially soccer! I draw and sing. My family has moved twelve times all over North America. The longest I have lived in a place was Utah, where we resided in North Salt Lake. I spent most of my high school years at Bountiful where I worked at a nearby assisted living place as a cook. However, when I was a senior in high school, we moved to North Carolina. Then I went to BYU-Idaho for a year majoring in English Education. I also want to minor in health. The week before finals of my freshman year, I received my mission call to London England.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I know it is true. I was born into the church and I was blessed with righteous parents who do their best to teach their children to come unto Christ. Through my life, and especially the last few years I have come to know that this is God's church. This is His one and only true church. I have come to know this slowly over time by reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon together. They are two books that are witnesses of Christ, and his teachings, his atonement, and his resurrection. Reading both it is obvious that the doctrine is the same. 2 Corinthians 13:1 says that "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." The Book of Mormon the second witness. The witness of the Bible cannot stand alone, but must be held up by the Book of Mormon. I know this gospel is true, and that Christ is my redeemer. Without His atonement no man could repent and be forgiven of their sins, and without His resurrection no man could live again. It is only through Him that we can be saved, and that we can change and become the sons and daughters that God wants us to be. One way I have come to know the truth of this is constant and steady study and prayer. However, just as a person can read a chemistry book over and over again and learn only that the electrons are negative, a person can do the same thing with the gospel. If it does not cause a change it does not mean that the doctrine is not correct, but that the person is not correctly learning from or applying it. There must be sincere intent. This is God's only true and living church on the earth and I am eternally grateful for it. We have a prophet who speaks to God on this earth now. We have the words of God in the form of scripture. God has a plan for each of us. He wants us to come unto him. He has provided the way and has given us his church to guide us back to Him. I am a Mormon, because this is God's only true church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures every morning without fail. I live my faith by going to church. I live my faith by praying every chance I get. My life is my faith. I love to discuss the gospel with my family and friends. I love to talk, learn, and read about the gospel of Christ. He is my redeemer. I live my faith by going out with the missionaries and teaching the gospel to investigators. I live my faith by serving my family. I live my faith by searching for my ancestors and indexing. I live my faith by continual progression.
