Hi I'm Amber

I was born and raised in the Sonoran Desert. I do decorative painting in the church Temples. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lived my entire life in Tucson Arizona and I love it! It seems like people don't consider the desert to be one of the most prettiest of places, but I have always found it to have such a unique beauty. Since I left to go to college in Utah and my family moved to Utah for medical reasons, I have missed the desert like nothing else! In the desert is where I gained my love for all things beautiful and of art. When you've lived in a dry, brown, hot place for 18 years you learn to notice the beauty, in all it's forms, around you. I still am fascinated whenever I see a tree that is taller than a car, or that is a vibrant green. I'm amazed whenever I see a rabbit or quail in Utah that actually has some meat on it's bones. I love nature so much and have come to appreciate all that God has created for us on this earth! I also love to draw- my declared major at BYU is animation. I absolutely love to sing, especially with my family. I generally always have a song stuck in my head. But I think above all else, I love to talk! I love to talk to and meet new people, get to know them, and make friends. And I love the Gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So, I guess that is why I started to be a Mormon, but why have I stayed in the church for 19 years? It is because I wasn`t just born into the Mromon Church, I chose to be a Mormon! I do not believe that being born into the church automatically makes you believe and want to be a Mormon, because I have friends that have left the church. But I know for myslef that I will always want to be a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints because I have tried and tested its teachings. I have come to know, over my lifetime, that this is Jesus Christs true church, once again restored to the earth! And what a blessing it is to know that! It is a knowledge an faith that I want to shout from the roof tops, because I know the joy and peace that it has brought to me and my family. While the world has always challanged me to "know" something, this Church, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ has always challanged me to "become" something! And I know that with Jesus Christ, I can become more than I ever thought possible! Because I was raised in the church I have always known who I am as a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and I have come to know of my eternal potential. I only hope that the whole earth could come to know of the great love that God has for each and every one of them!

How I live my faith

I Live my faith by doing what I know is right. I know that deep down we can tell and are each blessed with gift of knowing right from wrong, a gift we are all born with. Such a gift should not be wasted. It is hard to do what is right, for sure, but it brings true and lasting joy into peoples lives. And who doesn't want to be happy! I am happiest with myself and my life when I know that I am doing what I know to be right. I strive my hardest to do what my parents and this Gospel have taught me, even though I am not perfect and so often fall short. I live my faith by doing what God has commanded us to do. I pray, I read the scriptures, go to church, serve, and I try to obey the voice of His prophets- ancient and modern. I try to stay true to my responsibilities in my family, society, and church. I also want to sieze every oppertunity to share the gospel with others! As I preach what I practice, my faith grows more and more. I know I am not perfect, but this is what I strive to live my faith. I am comforted and strengthened by the knowledge of a Savior who knows what I am going through, and a Heavenly Father who knows and loves me perfectly. Through Jesus Christ I can repent and improve throughout my whole life!
