Hi I'm Charley

I have lived in Phoenix, Arizona all my life. I am a full time student in both high school and college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to try new things. I am all about experiencing as much as I can with the time I have. I have traveled all around the United States, learning all types of interesting history in the process. I love creating fun backyard projects that can be put to good use. A metal foundry and a fire-starting fresnel lens are a few examples of my youthful creativity. When I was 15, I decided to start college. Through this process of attending higher level education classes before and after high school, I will attain two Associates Degrees by May 2017 (I will be 18 years old). I have been accepted and am beyond excited to attend Brigham Young University Provo. Before my enrollment, however, I will be serving a two-year mission in Nicaragua!

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon brings me the greatest joy. Being able to know that I will have an eternal family and live in the presence of God fills me with peace. I am so thankful to have the knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father, and that He gave His only begotten son for me. Many of my friends and acquaintances have said that they knew I was Mormon by my attitude and actions. It is true. Mormons stand out. We all have of our struggles, but we are happy. We know that life is not supposed to be a treated as a burden, but rather, as a gift. With each waking day, I choose to follow the path my Savior has laid out for me. Though I am imperfect, through Jesus Christ's atonement, I can be cleansed. My burdens do not have to weigh me down. I rely on my faith so much, and I would feel lost without it. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith is my foundation. Having a firm foundation keeps me grounded when the winds of the world come creeping in. Having a solid testimony in my Savior, Jesus Christ, I can withstand the temptations and sinful desires people face on a daily basis. I choose to light my heart with the brightness of Christ. Through daily scripture study, regular seminary and church attendance, steadfast prayer, and a determination to keep the commandments of God, I get to experience the beauties of this world without being dragged down by gripping yields of Satan. As I carry my testimony with pride, I live a life full of love and faith untainted.
