Hi I'm Mike Horne

I grew up in Orem Utah. I am a XCountry Runner, and I am the captain of my team. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school senior, waiting to serve a mission. I love to run, and do sports. Especially jumping on the trampoline. I like to hang out with my friends and family. I am an Eagle scout, and I have completed duty to God. I love to read and watch movies. Especially superhero movies. Captain America is my favorite hero because of his ethics, morals, and beliefs. Standing up for whatever you believe in, no matter what others say. I also love the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I love reading the scriptures and have made an effort to incorporate the doctrines of the modern prophets' teachings into my study and life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel is true, for me to deny that would be to condemn myself. I know that Jesus of Nazareth, the "Son of David" is the Christ. He atoned for all of Gods children and their sins. He loved me so much, as to take upon himself my sins, and pay the price of justice for them. He now offers me his loving mercy and simply asks that I come unto him. Which is why I am a member of this church. I was brought the immense blessing of the gospel and I want to share it with others. The gospel is true, the Book of Mormon is true as well.

How I live my faith

I am an active priest in my ward. I am also an organist in my ward. I love to serve others. I learned in my early teen years that the best way to love people and develop love is to be selfless and serve them. My grandfather passed away in the fall of 2016 and I hadn't realized how much I had come to love him because of the services I did for him. He was sick in his last years in his mortal life and was not very mobile, couldn't live by himself really. As I would serve him daily I learn a lot about him and his life. But most of all: I learned to love him through my service to him. I have been determined to serve others as I served him. To love all of Gods children.
