Hi I'm Devin Merkley

I was born and raised in Vernal, Utah and then I moved to the Ogden area. I am an officer for my Best Buddies club. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 5 children. I love to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and I am an officer for a school club where we get to spend time with these people. I enjoy playing basketball and exercising. I spend a lot of time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. I will be going on my mission soon and then I will attend college on a President's Scholarship when I get home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true. It gives me great hope and happiness. We live in a world that is filled with a lot of negativity and conflict, but the church teaches us to love others and find joy in helping them. I know that I will be able to live with my family forever, which is one of the most exciting and great things that we teach. It gives me great hope and joy to know that there is so much we have to look forward to.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending the temple each week and going to church each Sunday. I have been blessed to be able to do this for almost two years now. I am the first assistant to the Bishop in my ward, so I get the opportunity to be a leader for the other youth in my ward. I recently became an Elder and will leave on my mission in July. I home teach two families with my father each month. We get to go into their homes and help to teach lessons to them as well as serve them.
