Hi I'm Emma Black

I am going on my mission to Arkansas. I'm pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I just graduated from college with my Associates of Pre-Engineering. I have an amazing family, with two steady parents who are both return missionaries and I have four brothers who let me be the favorite sister. My favorite thing that I did this last year was be the president of the campus book club and put together a place where people could help other people find new books to love. My favorite treat is croissants and my favorite genre of music is musicals. I'm not a writer, but I love stories and characters. When I grow up I want to be either a systems engineer or a mechanical engineer. I love seeing processes and item evolution so I think that I have to potential to do anything I want to. Right now I mostly like going to school with my brother and watching superhero shows. My favorite movie is the Lego Batman Movie.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is hard and life is going to be hard no matter what your religion is, but I know that as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I will recieve peace and comfort through all the hard times. I know that hearts can change through the Atonement and that when we make promises with God we can get so many blessings. I am not a perfect person, but I know that Jesus Christ was perfect and that I have a goal to return to live Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ after I die so I'm going to try to be perfect through Christ. I have seen the blessings of being obedient so far as a missionary and I know that God will not give us commandments that we will not be blessed for keeping. Also the scriptures are truly the Word of God and will truly help us be more like Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I want to be happy and I know that following Jesus Christ and learning about his Gospel brings happiness. It's worth it.

How I live my faith

Although I grew up as a member of the church, I got to choose to use my agency to learn more about Jesus Christ and his Gospel. I learned more about the scriptures by going to institute and seminary and by reading them myself. I teach my family in family home evening and I currently teach a gospel principles class. I show my standards and set a good example by smiling as much as I can and by wearing respectful and modest clothing. My next adventure in following my faith will be serving my mission in the South this next year and learning about how much love our Savior has for those around me. My faith is centered on Jesus Christ and his Atonement and I know that feelings of guilt and sadness can only be relieved through the Atonement. I want to live my faith in my future by learning about Christlike Attributes and applying them in my life. I also want to keep my standards high so that I continue to have the ability to be a good example to anybody who sees me. I want to show charity for those I met and do all that I can to uplift the world.
