Hi I'm Jake McGrath

My name is Jake McGrath and I'm a Mormon from the USA. I grew up in Saudi Arabia and I'm excited to serve my mission in Ukraine!

About Me

I am originally from Arizona but I have spent the last five years in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Here, I have enjoyed traveling the world, meeting new people, and playing many sports including baseball, golf, table tennis, and basketball. I am 18 years old and will graduate high school in 2017 and serve a mission shortly thereafter. Once I complete my mission, I plan to attend college in Utah. There, I plan on finding my wife and starting a family!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, I've never known what it's like to not be a member. Through this, I learned all the basic facts at a very young age and have heard them many times since. I know all the things I've learned are true through earnest prayer and scripture study. Again, through this fact, through knowing the answers to many questions such as, 'why am I here on this earth?' and 'where am I going after I die?' I am ecstatic. This religion makes me so happy and I know it to be true as it will bring me everlasting joy! Happiness is key in everyone's life and my religion makes me happy like no else, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon in Saudi Arabia is much different than many other places. For example, there it is against the law to proselyte, so instead, I try to serve others and lead by example. People ask me questions a lot, so I try to answer them as concisely and correctly as possible. Within the Church, I help lead a group of other teenagers that are between the ages of 16-18 who are called priests. I enjoy that very much and we do a lot of work together serving and helping one another.
