Hi I'm Brycen

I live in Connecticut. I love to play basketball. I will be serving my Mission July 19th and preaching in the Korean language!

About Me

I am a senior in high school, and will be serving in the California Arcadia Mission, Korean speaking. After my mission I will be attending Southern Virginia University, and will play basketball there. I have been speaking Chinese for the past seven years, and have visited Beijing and Shanghai. I am six feet-seven inches, and I love the beach, being outside, and being active.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to find a sweet peace that is so distinguishable and unique. When I attend church I can receive spiritual nourishment and feel the love of the Savior. He lives, His presence is still felt. When I was younger my dad was not a member of our church, in fact he strongly opposed it. Yet this did not deter my mother and I; when he refused for us to attend church we would hide in the bathroom and read scriptures and find ways to hold lessons at home. Problems arose again when my dad refused to let me get baptized into the church. I remember so distinctly bearing my testimony to him of how I knew this was the true church. While my dad probably shrugged it off, eventually his heart was softened through the constant years of prayer and fasting, and he finally allowed me to get baptized. I love this church, it is the restored church on the earth. I have such a deep love for the Savior and all that He has done for me and my family.

How I live my faith

I participate in my community by doing community service. This ranges from raking up lawns, soup kitchens, or donating blood. For my ward, I am an active participant. Being an Elder presents you with many exciting opportunities to help and love those in your ward.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Brycen
Joseph Smith was a Prophet called by God to restore many of the truths that have been lost since Jesus Christ's times. Similarly to how God has called Prophets before, He continues to work in that same pattern and calls Prophets to lead, guide, and direct us today. Show more Show less
