Hi I'm Tyler Brotherson

I was born in Redmond, Washington. I have grown up in Meridian, Idaho. I go to Mountain View High School. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of three kids. I have an older brother and an older sister. My brother is going to college at BYU, and my sister is currently serving a mission in Spain. I have played basketball for as long as I can remember. I have been on the high school basketball team for the last two years, and I was a captain for this past year. I will be graduating high school in about a month. I am preparing to serve a mission in Indonesia. I leave in the beginning of July. I am really excited to serve a mission and spread the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a member of the church has blessed my life in ways that sometimes I don't even recognize. There is a certain type of joy and happiness that the gospel brings. Having a close relationship with my Father in Heaven allows me to feel the Spirit all the time and it gives me a shield against the influences of the world. I know that we are led and guided by prophets that are on the earth. They give us so much guidance and direction that makes it so much easier to navigate through trials and challenges and just through everyday life. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith translated it. The Book of Mormon gives me so much knowledge about the gospel and it allows me to feel the Spirit. I also love the gospel because it allows me to live with my family again. I love knowing that we can have eternal families and we have the ability to become like our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have been a part of the gospel my whole life. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and I have gone to church ever since I was born. I have been the president in all of the quorums that I have been in. I am currently serving as the first assistant in the Priest's quorum. I go to seminary every other day at my high school. I have learned so much about the gospel in seminary. I am getting ready to leave on my mission in just a couple of months. I have been called to serve in the Indonesia Jakarta Mission. I will be preaching the gospel in the Indonesian language. I am excited to teach other people about the gospel and allow others to receive the blessings that the gospel brings.
