Hi I'm Colby Richardson

I play soccer and basketball, love to study engineering and am an eagle scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was a little boy I loved to build and fix things and play basketball. I love to program, fix computers and design things to be built. I will be going to Utah State University to study engineering and continue to pursue my love of building things. I love being part of a team and playing sports with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon is very simple and basic. The gospel of this church has brought me more happiness than any other thing in this world. The idea of being with your families together forever and being forgiven of your sins is truly amazing. Whenever I follow the commandments I feel so happy and I know that God knows what can make us happy and what can lead us to avoid sin and unhappiness in this life. God has many blessings in store for us which are beyond comprehension if we will follow what he says. Every bad thing that happens in my life becomes small because of the immense joy I get from studying the words of Christ it is absolutely amazing.

How I live my faith

I can be quite shy sometimes but I love to help others. I love to find people to serve because I know the great happiness that I get from serving and also the people I serve. I was fortunate enough to be called as a family history consultant who helps others find ancestors and discover their stories through a site called familysearch.org. I have seen family history really bring others to be grateful about their ancestors and love them. I have also had the sweet opportunity to be a leader over the young men and young women my age in the church, and in the Boy Scouts of America program. It was neat to better understand the lives of each of these young men as I tried to help them better understand the doctrine of the church, learn life skills and find happiness in serving others. By serving others I am trying to be more like Christ. Christ was the ultimate example of service and unprecedented love for every person who has lived, is living and will live.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Colby Richardson
The Word of Wisdom is a great blessing to anyone who follows it. This set of commandments on what substances you shouldn't be eating, drinking or using. Things like Tobacco and Alcohol destroy your body and when you become addicted can ruin your everyday life and take away much of the joy of life. Science backs up much of this information. God knows what is best for us and staying clear of these harmful substances will bless anyone's life. Show more Show less
