Hi I'm Joe

I grew up in Utah. I am preparing to serve a mission in Maryland. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been home schooled much of my life and I love it. I'm a hiker, mountain biker, barefoot runner, crazy dancer, reader, and debater. I love to spend time outside in the mountains by my house. When I'm not outside, I'm probably inside reading a good piece of classic literature. I just got out of high school (technically, since I didn't actually attend a public school). Now I'm preparing to serve an LDS mission in Baltimore, Maryland.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had a desire to know truth. I remember when I was younger than 8, preparing to be baptized into the Church. I had read and been re reading the Book of Mormon and I prayed every night, asking Heavenly Father if it was true. Finally, I got an answer. I realized I already knew it was true. My testimony kind of dawned on me slowly, but it's been growing ever since. I have doubts sometimes, and fears like everyone else. But I depend on my faith and I know that this church is true. It's not blind faith, it's a process of learning to see. Jesus Christ is my Savior and I can't wait to serve Him faithfully as a missionary.

How I live my faith

Since I'm still young, I haven't held too many positions of responsibility in the Church. I have been the leader of my neighborhood's 3 different young men youth groups though. I also visit two families in my area with my dad once a month. I also substitute in the Church primary, where kids younger than 12 learn on Sunday. I love being with the youth who are like me and the little kids who are so fun. Beyond that, I serve. I try to help others in small ways by being friendly, open, and doing simple acts of service. I also strive to be honest at the workplace. I live my faith by doing the things Christ has asked of me and I'm always striving to be better.
