Hi I'm Alex

I was born and raised in Provo, Utah. I'm an artist and a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really love art. I love that it is a form of communication. I love that I can truly express my feelings and share my testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel. I love to paint and draw especially and I intend to major in fine arts at BYU following my mission. I also love running. I have participated in cross country and track and field for several years, running in road races, 5k's, track events and other races. My favorite race is the 100 meter dash.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that when struggles and hard times come, as they always do, there is no one else to turn to that is more consistent, more powerful, and more comforting than Jesus Christ is. I have leaned on Him as I have gone through my own difficult challenges and I will continue to lean on Him as life progresses. He has helped me in so many ways. I choose to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ because when I am, He comforts me. Because of Him I can hold my head high. He is my dearest Friend and Savior and I bear grateful testimony of Him. I promise you that whatever you are going through or will go through, He is always there to support you. I have felt Him do it for me and I promise you if you follow Him and His gospel, He will do the same for you.

How I live my faith

I serve on a youth council at my high school to plan for Seminary and Institute related activities such as firesides, lunchtime speeches, holiday assemblies etc. I am also an assistant to my ward leader, the Bishop, and therefore have duties and responsibilities for my peers and friends and other youth. I have many assignments on Sundays such as the assignments to attend meetings, plan activities, prepare for Sunday services, and reach out to those not active in the Church.

In whom should we have faith?

We are to have faith in Jesus Christ. We honor and revere the Prophet Joseph Smith as a servant of God, as well as all past and current prophets, but we do develop faith in them. We instead develop faith in Jesus Christ. We worship Jesus Christ and have faith in Him because He restored this gospel. In the words of Henry B. Eyring, "If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest as well as the easiest of times can be a blessing." If we have faith, even if it is seemingly small and insignificant, we can do all things that God wants us to do. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Not only does the Atonement of Jesus Christ help us overcome sin, it helps us rise above all things that are contrary to the will of God. And the will of God is for us to be eternally happy. Any struggle, trial, or sorrow we ever experience in this life, Jesus Christ has experienced also. It is written in the Book of Mormon that He experienced all the pain and sicknesses we ever will so that He could know perfectly how to "succor," or help us overcome those things. One day, if we follow the Lord and His light, we will be lifted above the darkness of this world. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

I suppose a reason we have Apostles in this, the restored church, is because it is the very same church that Jesus Christ established anciently. The parallels between the Mormon church and the church of Christ in the New Testament are undeniable evidences that Jesus Christ is still leading His church today. This is His gospel, His church, and He lives and leads today. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

God loves all His children with an infinite love. He wants all of His children to know of Him so that He can help them come home. He sends forth His servants to go and teach all people about Him. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I would highly recommend reading the Book of Mormon to increase your faith in Christ. Every bit of the book prophecies of Christ and His divinity. It is true and I testify that the Book of Mormon is made up of His words and His gospel. Show more Show less
