Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up in the United States. I am the oldest daughter of four girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything to do with sports. Some of my favorite sports that I played throughout my life were softball, volleyball, and basketball. I grew up in a small town in Arizona, then moved to the city after I graduated from High School. I got a scholarship to play volleyball in college. I played for one year then decided to go on a mission. I am currently serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon all my life. My mom and dad were Mormons all their lives too, but my grandpa on my dad's side was a convert. I am grateful for the missionaries who reached out to him and taught him this wonderful gospel. His testimony is one of the strongest I have ever heard. Having said that, I have gained my own testimony of this gospel for myself. I know that Joseph Smith restored the one and only true church here upon the Earth, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that president Monson is a true and living prophet and that what he says comes directly from the Lord. I know that if I listen to His counsel then I will be on the correct path. I know that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of His children so much and that is why He sent His son to atone for the sins of the world. Because of Jesus Christ I can be cleansed of all my mistakes and strive to be a better person every day. Knowing that gives me hope and strengthens my faith in Him. I am so grateful for the Knowledge that I have gained for living the gospel and being a part of this church.

How I live my faith

I make my faith the center of my life. I attend church every week and strive to serve in the church as much as I can. As a youth I especially loved serving the elderly in our ward. I would do simple acts of service such as pulling their weeds or cleaning their house. I also had the opportunity to be in the presidency of our youth groups. I helped plan the weekly activities, visit girls who were struggling, and taught some of the lessons. When I moved away from home I was part an amazing ward. I was called to be a ward missionary for a few months before I served a mission. I also try my best to attend the temple every week. My faith has brought so much peace and joy into my life. Nothing else could ever compare to the joy i have felt from living it. I love being a missionary and spreading this wonderful gospel.
