Hi I'm Jared

I was born and raised in Texas. I love mountain biking and playing the trombone. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play the trombone in my High School Marching, Concert, and Jazz bands. Jazz is probably my favorite type of music to play. I also love to mountain bike. It's been a passion of mine for about 6 years now. I am an intense outdoor enthusiast. I love backpacking, canoeing, climbing, and fishing. I will be attending college when I return from my two-year mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church. My father converted to this church in his early twenties, then served a mission. This gave me the chance to be a part of this amazing gospel from birth. I know that the Book of Mormon, translated by Joseph Smith through the power of God, is true, and that by reading it one can truly become closer to Jesus Christ spiritually. I know that the Savior suffered and died that we may be saved from both physical and spiritual death. Through Him, all of my sins can be forgiven if I choose to follow Him. He was the perfect example of love for me to follow. I know that this is the only true church on the earth today through personal prayer and scripture study. I have received many, both big and small, personal experiences that have reassured me that this is Jesus Christ's church, restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Priesthood is the power of God given to worthy men to exercise their authority with righteousness and to bring about the purposes that God has given us to fulfill. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by home teaching in homes of families in the ward. I am a representative for my ward in our stake's youth council, which means I am the voice for our youth when planning activities for the youth of our stake. I love the Book of Mormon and love to read and ponder about what it teaches.
