Hi I'm Mary B.

I'm from a small farming town in rural Missouri. I'm preparing to serve a mission in Uruguay. I'm so glad to be a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sophomore in college studying Biology at BYU-Idaho. I enjoy playing all different sports (but soccer is probably my favorite). I also enjoy all types of music and art. If you've never been horse-back riding, you need to try it! I enjoy family time and hanging out with friends. I've wanted to serve a mission for almost four years now, and I am SO excited to have been called to serve in the Uruguay!

Why I am a Mormon

I love this question! I was raised in the church, but I didn't truly convert or gain my own personal testimony of the gospel until I was twelve. When I was twelve, I started looking for something that would bring more joy and satisfaction into my life. What I found, was the gospel of Jesus Christ as it was restored to the earth by the prophet, Joseph Smith. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As I attended church services weekly with my family, I noticed that the people there were happy and they had something unique, something I didn't yet have. They had the gospel. They had knowledge of the Great Plan of Salvation. They knew who Christ was and what He did. They chose willingly and completely to follow Him. I decided to give it a try. I decided, for myself, that I would follow Christ. This is a decision that I have never regretted. My life is so much better for it. I found that joy and fulfillment that I was looking for, but I also found so much more. Living the gospel gives me strength, courage, peace, comfort, faith, hope, charity, and purpose. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday to fellowship with other believers and most importantly, to learn about my Savior, Jesus Christ. I also enjoy daily scripture study and prayer. I feel that these keep me close to my Father in Heaven. As I follow Christ and try my best to live as He lived during His ministry here on earth, I am worthy to have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide my action for good.
