Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Logan Utah, and am going to serving the Lord for 2 years in Guatemala Retalhuleu and I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Jake and for the next 2 years of my life I am going to be serving the Lord in Guatemala Retalhuleu. Going on a Mission has always been a goal in my life and I am so happy I have finally reached this goal. Some things that I have always enjoyed is playing sports. Throughout all of High School I have played football, tennis, basketball and golf. Sports is a way that I have met almost all of my friends and something that I just enjoy doing. After serving my mission I plan on attending BYU Hawaii and am not yet sure what I will be studying. I am beyond excited to be able to serve the Lord for a full two years and am counting down the days.

Why I am a Mormon

From the day I was born I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents have always been faithful members of this Church so I have always been following their example and trying to become the best person that I can be. The Church gives you that purpose in life and just gives you an outline of what you should be doing with your life. By being a part of this Church I know that if I love God and follow his commandments I will one day be able to live with him again. So by being part of the only true Church I have the outline of how I am going to be able to live with Him again someday.

How I live my faith

As of right now I am the 1st Assistant in the Priests Quorum. I have many responsibilities such as watching over the boys in this Quorum and also watching over the church. The Priests have one of the most important things to do on Sundays. During our Sacrament meeting we are the ones who have the opportunity to bless the bread and water. Without this we would not have the chance to partake of the sacrament which is one of the most important parts of our weeks where we are able to renew the covenants that we have made with our Father in Heaven.
