Hi I'm Courtney Johnson

I'm a missionary serving in the Canada Toronto Mission. I share the gospel with all because the gospel is everything to me.

About Me

Before leaving on my mission I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and studied chemistry. I worked in a physical chemistry research lab studying the vibrational properties of crystals via light. I've danced throughout my life, and have recently found a new love for yoga. I love to be near and on water, including swimming, cliff jumping, boating, and kayaking. I also love the power of music and enjoy singing. My newest joy, however, is being a missionary and working hand in hand with the Savior to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose everyday to be a Mormon, to be a believer and a witness of Jesus Christ, because I know He lives. I know that Heavenly Father sent His Son in mercy to this earth to atone for the sins of all mankind, to establish His church, and to be an example to all. I know that He restored His true church through Joseph Smith in our day and that he leads the church today through our modern day prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, that church being. I am a Mormon because without the gospel of Jesus Christ I would be lost in this crazy world. I am a Mormon because I need my Savior. I need Him because He guides me, protects me, comforts me, gives me hope, changes me, makes me better, and allows me to live. I have come to know of His reality and His love day by day and trial by trial as I have followed His doctrine, principles, and ultimately His example. My membership in this church, my knowledge of this gospel, and my testimony mean everything to me. I invite you to learn more of God's love for you by learning more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and requesting and reading the Book of Mormon, and seeing where God's merciful and glorious plan takes you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my everyday actions and who I strive to be. I pray and study my scriptures every day to receive strength and light. I strive to help others and put my best effort in to all I do. Currently I teach nine and ten year olds about the gospel to help lay a firm foundation for their lives. Shortly, I will leave to serve a full time mission teaching others about my faith and how they can find happiness and peace through Jesus Christ, our Savior. I live my faith by following the great example of our Master, Jesus Christ.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Courtney Johnson
Not all Mormons are required to serve missions; however, it is a wonderful opportunity to serve God and His children for those who choose to go. I personally have chosen to serve a full time mission and look forward to teaching the gospel, but we do not look down upon or require any member of our church to serve a full time mission.
