Hi I'm Ellika

I'm a total foodie, I dance practically everywhere I go, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I call Indiana home seeing as it's where I've lived my whole life. I've got two crazy brothers and one conveniently sized sister (we're now the same size in clothing which means my wardrobe has doubled in size). My parents are the most generous people I know. They've always been willing to give not only money, but time and attention to those in need. My mom's my best friend and my dad is my other bestie. I love to try new foods and I really do dance practically everywhere. In my room, in the kitchen, in the parking lot, waiting in line, browsing through bookshelves. You name the place, there's a 90% chance I'm doing a little jig. I don't know exactly what I want to be when I grow up, but I do know that I want it to involve a heck ton of fun. I'm a huge fan of friendship and I'm super grateful for the existence of it. I also really love sunshine and ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

God is so good. He loves us so much. I've been aware of His love for as long as I can remember. It's that knowledge of His love for me and for everybody around me that has persuaded me to believe that this is Christ's true church. Every doctrine, every ordinance, every principle, it all points towards a loving Heavenly Father who simply wants His children to come back to Him. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ that resides in this church is the way back to God. I will obey every commandment and keep every covenant to the best of my ability, and I will trust in the Atonement of Jesus Christ to redeem me when I fail all so that I can live with God again.

How I live my faith

The members around where I live are a very social bunch so I've spent a heck ton of time helping plan church activities. First with my youth group and now with my fellow "young single adults." Everything from tea (it was actually lemonade) parties to camp, from Christmas parties to chili cook offs, from fundraisers to dances. My life is an endless cycle of friendship and fun. One of the things that really love about this gospel is its emphasis on brotherly kindness. Being kind to people isn't always easy but I generally try to be. All of these social events are just a way to facilitate friendship and unity which is why I love it all so darn much.
