Hi I'm Tayson

I was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, and I'm getting ready to serve my mission in Puebla, Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tayson Neff. I was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho. I love to hunt, fish, and do anything outdoors. I love sports and have played just about everything possible. Spending time with my family is always number one on my list as I like to camp, adventure, and just hang out with them. I am the student body president at Blackfoot High School, and love being in leadership positions. I was accepted to both BYU Provo and Utah State, and have deferred both so that I can decide where to go after my mission. I have been called to serve in the Mexico, Puebla North mission, and couldn't be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion, and found myself leaning on my parent's testimonies a lot while growing up. I grew up going to church, and doing what I was told to do. Read the scriptures, pray every day, go to church. I was baptized when I was 8 years-old because I thought that's just what I was supposed to do. It wasn't very hard for me to just live how I was told to. Until high school came along. I found myself falling behind in my scripture reading. I didn't know very much in seminary. I began questioning the things that I had always been told are true. Now I had to make a choice for myself, whether I was going to progress in my faith, or if I was going to fall away. I decided to just keep pushing on and trying to keep up. I didn't really feel like I was getting anywhere until my senior year. This is when answers started coming. I tried harder than ever to live righteously and to prepare myself. I began to understand my role in life piece by piece. I started to not only believe that the things I was learning were true but knowing them without a doubt. It's still not perfect, I still have questions and don't live perfectly. However, I do know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the truth, and the Joseph Smith was directed by Heavenly Father to translate it so that we can have it in our lives today. I know that Joseph Smith was the first prophet of God, and that we have a prophet that leads us in the same way today. I know that if we do our part in doing our best to live like Christ, we will live with our Heavenly Father once again. I know these things are true, and I know that anyone can find out the same things for themselves if they just ask God.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the LDS religion, and have done my very best to live up to its teachings. I have learned that service is one of the best ways to lead by example and to help others in the most selfless way possible. I have been in many leadership positions growing up, and I love being the one people can look up to and count on. One of the best experiences I've ever had was going to Brazil with 20 others youth of my faith to serve and build a medical center for two weeks. It makes it a lot easier to keep my eye single to the glory of God when I surround myself with peers that have the same standards and goals as me. I live my faith by doing the very best I can, and by being there for other people to give them the same opportunities that I've been given.
