Hi I'm Chance

I have grown up in Utah. I played football and am a commander over 3 squadrons in JATC Criminal Justice. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports. I was a football player for Bingham High School. I am also an Eagle Scout and was chosen to represent the U.S. at the 2015 World Scout Jamboree in Yamaguchi, Japan. Currently I am a commander of three squadrons of the JATC Criminal Justice class. Law enforcement is my passion and I plan to go into that career field later in life. I recently received my mission call. I have been called to serve the people of Bolivia in the Bolivia, Santa Cruz mission. I leave on the fourth of July, 2017 and I am really excited to get out there and help build the kingdom of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church for my whole life. My parents are members and they raised me in it. While I was young, obviously I didn't think much of it other than it was just something we did. It was a routine and it was something my parents wanted me to do. Now that I am older, I have come to know for myself that this is the true gospel of Christ. This is His church. I found that it is important for me to continue to progress in my spiritual journey here on earth. I came to the point that if I was going to continue to go to church, I needed to know of its importance and truth for myself. So, as Joseph Smith did, I prayed to my Father in Heaven and asked for His influence and His blessing of knowledge on me that I could know that what I was involved in was right. I have never doubted since. I cannot deny Him; I cannot deny this gospel; I cannot deny the truth. Throughout my life, I have had very special and personal spiritual experiences. I have seen and been involved in incredible miracles that have changed my life and the life of others. I have seen the hand of God in my life every single day. He has made himself manifest to me. I am on His side and I am enlisted in his cause, because I love my Savior with every fiber of my being. I love Him who loved me first, and I want to live for Him who lived, died, and rose for me. I will forever be indebted to my Lord and Savior. I want to be like Him. I want to honor Him. That is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my life in such a way as Christ would have me do. In the church I have served in a number of capacities. I have been the president of my group of youth since I was 12. I work hand in hand with the bishop now being his first assistant. I work with him to oversee the welfare of the youth in our area and also to keep harmony and address the needs of everyone under his jurisdiction. I have also been apart of a youth committee meeting at the stake level, where I worked stake leaders and other youth to watch over and represent the youth in our community. We organized events, planned service opportunities, and be there to support the youth in their endeavors. Now, I have been called to be a missionary for the church. I will be spending 2 years of my life teaching the people of Bolivia about the gospel of Jesus Christ and His love for them. Outside of church, I just do my best to live as Christ would and look for opportunities to help others. I try to let my actions and example testify of Christ and glorify Him.
