Hi I'm Aurora

I grew up in Colorado. I'm serving a full time mission in the Paris, France Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have moved around a lot, trying to find my place where I can fit. I have lived in 4 different states, and I know I won't stop there. I have worked many different jobs. I still am searching for that fit. Everywhere I go, I find peace and comfort in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Every state, the church is the same, and that is an amazing thing in my life. The church fits perfectly. I am a single starving artist who won't stop moving. I know I can sculpt anywhere, and I will do so. I know that anywhere I go, I can find an LDS church that will welcome me in. I am putting sculpting on hold to give my time to the Lord. I will serve my God on a full time mission. As I do so, I know I will grow in the gospel. I will gain knowledge that will guide my feet in the decisions to follow. I will never stop moving toward the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has directed my life in every way. I am a Mormon because without my beliefs and my faith in Christ, I would be lost. I have read again and again in the Book of Mormon, and have been directed in my choices. I have listened to the prophets, and I know what they say comes from God; because I have felt the assurance from the Holy Ghost. I live my life in accordance the the standards of the gospel and by what I have learned in this church; and I am happy! I have joy in my every day life, and I never want to loose that.

How I live my faith

I am in a fun college town, and am in a wonderful young single adult branch. I am over the Family Home Evening events that happen every Monday evening. I plan activities and lessons. Every week, I get to invite others to participate in the lessons, or in the activities. I get to know everyone in my branch through my calling, and I love it. I am able to see everyone's gifts as they share for activities and hear testimonies as the teach lessons. That always strengthens my faith. On Sundays, I have been asked and called to teach a gospel doctrine class. Every week, I am able to prepare lessons about the scriptures and learn so much as I do so. I then get to teach what I learned, and hear the wonderful discussions that stem from the lesson. The class members bring such wonderful insight to the topics. I love the things I am able to do in my small group. It gives me joy to hear the testimonies of others. I love this gospel.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Women have been born with a link to heaven. We women have motherhood. God has given us a divine mission to bring his children to the earth, so that they can gain bodies. The priesthood is given to men to complete the circle, and have God's children return with their bodies back to God. The priesthood is the authority to use the power of God. Women use a part of that power, the power of creation, when we give life to Gods spirit children. God has not made men and women equal, but has made us partners. Men and women need each other to complete the circle and return to God. Show more Show less
