Hi I'm Ashlynn Bowman

I live in Texas and just completed my first year at BYU-I. I have been called to serve in California Rancho Cucamonga.

About Me

I just finished my first year at Brigham Young University- Idaho and my major is Elementary Education. Somethings about me is that I love watching and playing sports, meeting new people, and doing anything that is adventurous, exciting, and fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I started having doubts. I received that answer when President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, in his conference talk Come, Join with Us, says, "Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith." Right when he said that, I knew for a fact that it was from God and that it felt like it was definitely directed towards me. He is watching

How I live my faith

I participate in my community by doing services and getting to know the people. In my church, my calling was the 1st Counselor in the Relief Society, which is an organization for women ages 18 and over whose purpose is to provide support for the needs(temporal and spiritual) of all women in the Church. I got to know the girls personally through visiting teaching, regular checkups, being a friend, and creating that spiritually bond. You start to recognize the love of each girl. Its amazing to experience the insights of being in the Relief Society and how often we would have meetings about how each girl is doing and what we can do to help. They really do care and love the girls and did not judge or talk rude. We would come up with ideas to help the women, both individually and all together, by doing service for them, praying, fasting, and making meals/desserts. Because of this, I saw a different perspective of seeing them as children's of God. This taught me to view everyone as my Gods children's.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Ashlynn Bowman
We view every individual as our Heavenly Fathers children. Therefore, everyone is our brothers and sisters. Heavenly Father wants all of us to return to Him, His plan should be our goal to return to Him. Mormons not only help those that are members of the church, but we help everyone. Jesus Christ had set a perfect example for us of serving others, we should follow His examples and serve everyone just like Christ did. Show more Show less
