Hi I'm Jacob Pankratz

I am a student at BYU in Provo, Utah. I have struggled with depression. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm very interested in creating things and helping people, so I am studying to become a biomedical engineer. I also enjoy writing quite a bit, and I regularly write short-form poetry and occasional short fiction. I am among those people who actually enjoy public speaking and have spent a lot of time in activities that allow me to speak in front of people, such as speech (forensics), mock trial, and performing poetry.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my time in this church has helped me to feel God's love for me. I am a Mormon because I have felt the confirming influence of the Holy Ghost telling me that my choice in line with the church's teachings are true and will help me come close to Christ. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person. I am a Mormon because this church is Christ's church on the Earth today, and its teachings are true.

How I live my faith

I am currently preparing to go on a mission for the church, which means that I will be dedicating 100% of my time to serving Jesus Christ and the people in the area where I will be serving by helping to teach people about Christ. I have served in the past in a similar role among my church congregation, as well as having helped with teaching lessons on Sundays. I have also participated in numerous service activities in my community, earning my Eagle Scout award early last year.
