Hi I'm McKay

I live in California. I love engineering and design. I enjoy campfires on the beach with friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outside and enjoying the great outdoors! Whether it be skiing, bodysurfing, wakeboarding, or fishing, I can't seem to get enough of it. If I had to choose one place to live for the rest of my life, it would be in a tiny shack right on the beach. Yes I know the wise man built his house upon the rock and the foolish man built his house upon the sand, but I can't resist the ocean. My dream day would consist of spending hours playing Spikeball on the beach and body surfing in the waves with friends till the sun goes down. Then, finishing the day with a relaxing campfire right on the beach just telling stories and spending quality time with friends and family. Another interest of mine is engineering and design. I love making the ideas in my mind come to life through creativity and innovation. My goal is to make mechanisms that have the ability to help someone in need. There are so many people that suffer in this world. Hunger, poverty, and lack of clean water are just a few of the many issues people deal with right now. Engineering can help some of those people and I would love to contribute to that cause since I have been blessed with everything that I need and so much more.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to follow Christ's example and be a humble servant of God my whole life. God sent His first-born Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and to show us the way. Christ spent his time on the earth serving all. He spent his time loving all. Even those who brutally killed him He begged God to have mercy on. I know that Christ's church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have come to know that because the Spirit of God continually makes it known to me when I show faith. I can follow Christ by being a member of His church and by following his example. I can serve God by serving my fellow beings.

How I live my faith

I have been so blessed in my life. There is no way I could ever thank God for even a tiny fraction of all of the blessings I have and will receive. The greatest blessing that God has given me is his son, Jesus Christ. Having Jesus Christ in my life inspires me to live a life centered around Him. I can do this by participating in His work. His work is bringing all of his younger brothers and sisters (us) to Him through his Gospel. I try to show love and gratitude to God and his Son, Jesus Christ, by participating in the many duties I have as a disciple of Christ. One of the basic duties I have as a disciple of Christ is going to His church every week. On Sunday I get to go to church. I love going to church because I get to be cleansed of my sins. I do this by taking the sacred emblems of Christ's body and blood, the Sacrament. These emblems are bread and water. I hold God's power given to man to bless his children which is called the Priesthood. At church, I use this Priesthood power to bless the bread and water. Then, the members of the church and I get to eat and drink the bread and water so that we can all be cleansed of our sins. I love going to church each week and I love blessing and taking the sacrament because that is what Jesus wants me to do and it makes me happy. I am also participating in Christ's work by serving a mission. I have recently been called to serve a mission in Taiwan. Again, I have been immensely blessed in my life by living the Gospel of Christ and I want to serve a mission so that I can help the people of Taiwan have those same blessings. There are so many of God's children who are going about life not knowing what their purpose is. I have been blessed to know what my purpose is. I need to help others find out what their purpose is because God wants all of His children to return to live with Him after they die.
