Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Mormon. Born, live, and love it.

About Me

I've lived in Utah for my whole life. I love to play video games and work on computers. I earned my Associates Degree with my High School Diploma and am going to be going to Huancayo, Peru for my mission. When I get back I will be attending Brigham Young University, hopefully studying computer science and/or electrical engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy that it brings. I've seen it in others and in myself. My life would be dramatically different if I weren't a member of this church and I am thankful for it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example by following God's commandments. God has told us things that we should do in order to be happy in this life and the next. I'm the first assistant in my young men's group and help lead the young men in my group. We spend a lot of time in the service of others or doing family history work for our deceased ancestors.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries proselyte in order to bring others to the knowledge of the truth and bring them on the path to eternal salvation. The Savior taught His disciples, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19). As followers of Jesus Christ, members of His Church are enthusiastic about proclaiming the good news of His restored gospel to all who are willing to listen. Missionaries also proselyte in order to bring people into the happiness of the Church. Through living God's commandments and having faith on Him, many lives are made better every day. Missionaries want to bring this joy into people's lives. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Mormons perform baptisms for the dead to give those who have already passed a way to be baptized, which is necessary for salvation. Our Heavenly Father is a loving God and he knew that there would be times without the proper baptizing authority on the Earth. He created baptisms for the dead so that His children that did not have the opportunity in life to be baptized would be allowed to have the ordinance done for them. Show more Show less
