Hi I'm Matthew

I love writing music, poetry, and stories. I like to run, and doing flips is my thing. I love to sing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Orem, Utah. I am in the middle of twelve siblings. My family has moved around quite a bit, and I've been all over the continental United States. I like to write poetry about the wonderful world around us, and I like writing stories. I have been doing gymnastics since I was in preschool, and I'm lucky enough to have my father for a coach. I did cross-country and track in high school. I have always loved music. In high school I was in the band, orchestra, and the choir. I play several different instruments, such as the piano, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and I sing. I love writing music. I am still learning, but it's the funnest thing to do!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that it is God's will. I have been raised in the LDS church, and I've prayed and asked if it is the true church. An overwhelming feeling of peace swept over my entire being, and I knew. This is God's church on the earth today. I've noticed that when I follow His commandments, and do my best, He will lift me up. I've seen it in my own life, and I've seen it in others'. He's helped me so many times when I've made mistakes, and when I've been feeling down. I know that Christ knows each and every one of us by name. I know He is always there, with His hand stretched towards us. All we need to do is look, reach, and believe.

How I live my faith

I believe that everyone and anyone can be inspired by music. I try to create music that is uplifting, and that will help people become more optimistic. I love to sing in church, and I play the piano sometimes, too. Everyday, I try to smile. I've noticed that when I smile at others, it makes them smile back. I think it's important to remember that even something as small as a smile can brighten someone's day. I love to help others, and I'm about to serve a mission in Texas.
