Hi I'm Sophia Knaphus

I'm the seventh out of ten kids. I serve in the Washington Everett mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in raised in rural Utah. I have nine siblings ,I'm number seven. (Yup big family, it's the water here) I mostly played ninja with my four older brothers and learned karate and how to sword fight. I also love to play dress up with my five zany sisters. I secretly hope to be a librarian when I grow up. Also I watch way to many movies and tv shows. All things geeky can and will be associated with me. I keep a journal that has more pressed flowers and doodles than anything else. I do play the guitar, and I can be found occasionally singing with my mom and sister in our band "the kaye sisters". Yes I own a cowboy hat, and it's a fancy one. Over the past year I have learned how to make a latte, create a website, and chainsaw trees. All of this in an effort to earn money to pay for my own LDS mission. And I have been called to the Washington Everett Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because when I was a little girl afraid of the dark, or when I couldn't find one of my shoes. I would pray to my Heavenly Father and he helped and comforted that little girl. I'm a Mormon because when I read the Book of Mormon I can feel the spirit testify to me that it is true doctrine recording my ancient inhabitants of the Americas. I'm a Mormon because when I hear the stories of bravery, courage, and integrity about Joseph Smith I know that he was a mam of god. And I know that he did see and speak with Heavenly Father and the Christ. I'm a Mormon because when I hear the leaders and prophets of my church speak I can feel the spirit testify of the truth they are sharing. And I know that god speaks to modern day prophets. I'm a Mormon because I believe that this is Christ's church led and directed by prophets and his authority. And that he has an eternal plan for me and that I'm going to have to work, repent my butt off if I'm going to live with him again.

How I live my faith

In the past I've been a youth leader for my young women's group. Now I'm going on a full time mission for 18 months. You can call me Sister Knaphus.
