Hi I'm Elaina Olsen

My favorite thing about life is the people I get to share it with. There is so much joy to be found in the little things in life.

About Me

My family moved to Kaysville, Utah just before I turned 8 years old. We lived in a rental house for a few months, at which time I was baptized. I've been very involved with music for most of my life. I have fond memories of harmonizing with my mom at night to primary songs when she tucked me into bed. I decided to learn the French Horn in junior high, which decision set a positive course for the next several years of my life. I had the chance to be involved in my high school marching band, serving as a drum major. It is there that I learned integrity and the power of hard work. Over the years, I've learned that it isn't what I have that makes me happy. Instead, it's what I give to others that brings joy. Whether it's a friendly note, a secret act of kindness, or simply just a smile--it's those little things that have the power to change someone's life. "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass" (Alma 37:6).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it, and the Holy Ghost has testified to me that Jesus Christ is at the head of this church. I know that this gospel is the same gospel that existed on the earth when Christ was here. It has been restored. The knowledge of the Plan of Salvation has brought purpose to my life. What joy I feel at the knowledge that my family will be together forever. I have felt the love of God. I know that Christ lives, because I have seen His hand in my life. His tender mercies are real. He is truly there beside us throughout every step of our lives. He atoned for me and for you. There is a sanctifying and enabling power of the Atonement that has allowed me to accomplish things in my life I never would have been able to on my own.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to do what Jesus Christ would have me do. He is my Savior and my Exemplar. He is my closest friend. When I try to do His will, I feel His love. His power and strength enters into my life, and He guides me in the directions I need to take. When I try to be like Him, praying to see others how He sees them, He helps me feel a glimpse of the love He has for me and for His other children. He helps me know how best I can uplift those around me. Truly, we are all here to learn and to grow so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and our Savior someday. What greater way can we do this than by uplifting one another, always striving to grow closer to Christ?

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Elaina Olsen
We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by learning of Him and praying to develop a stronger relationship with Him. He is truly in the details of our lives. When we strive to recognize His hand in our lives and thank Him for what He has done for us and those around us, we will grow closer to Him and have increased confidence in the surety of His love and guidance for us. He loves us, and He is there. Show more Show less
