Hi I'm Emilee

I started a service organization that connects youth with older adults in retirement homes. I'm a college student & I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a college student seeking degrees in gerontology and health care. I am the middle child in my family and have a very wonderful and supportive family. I love being outside as much as possible. My hobbies include snow skiing, tennis, boating, tubing, waterskiing, hiking, ultimate frisbee, hammocking, rock climbing, playing the flute, and teasing my parents, siblings, and friends. I love making other people happy and helping people in general.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I choose to continue to follow His gospel because I know that it is the one true church on this earth today. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that I am a child of God, that he knows me personally and has a plan just for me. I am grateful that I can talk to my Heavenly Father in prayer and receive direction from him and comfort when things seem uncertain. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God because I have read it and I have asked of God and he has witnessed to me that it is true. I know that we are lead by a prophet of God today and that this Church has been Restored.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by trying to be an example of Christ in word and in deed. I live by faith by serving others. There was a time in my life where I did not have friends, but I noticed that there were people in the retirement centers who were also lonely and I decided I wanted to change that. I created an intergenerational service organization that connects the youth and elderly through fun monthly activities. Through showing Christ like love and service to the elderly and helping the youth do the same I have been able to share my faith through deed rather than through words and help others feel of God's love for them. I have served in many callings in my church that have taken much time. I am currently serving as a full time missionary for the LDS Church in Kentucky and am loving every minute of it as I am able to help others through service, through teaching, and through sharing the love God has for us with those around me.
