Hi I'm Tommy

I love my family and friends, I like anything related to technology or cats and yes.... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and have a mom, dad, grandpa, brother, sister, and a kitten. I'm the oldest of my family which means I also have the most responsibility. My parents are divorced but me and my siblings have gotten used to it by now. I love everything relating to technology and cats and like playing video games with family and friends, mainly Minecraft. I hope to serve a mission (and if I can help it) to Europe.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents were both members too until they got divorced. My mom doesn't believe in the gospel anymore and even though it was hard for these changes to happen, I still choose to believe in it. I truly believe that the gospel is as real as the sun I see in the sky and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that having the gospel in my life has made me reach my true potential.

How I live my faith

I strive to become better every day. I choose to do that by serving people and being kind to them. I am a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood and I also strive to do my duties as one. These include visiting someone's home every month and teaching them a lesson and preparing the Sacrament in church. I also love visiting the temple at least once a month with my dad and doing baptisms for the dead.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Tommy
Babtisms for the dead are performed in the temple. We babtize the dead that never got that chance to. I once heard that if we knew how much we need to do this, we would be crawling on our hand and knees to babtise the dead! They are waiting in heaven patiently and as Mormons, we get to serve them. It’s not just babtisms that are done in the temple, confirmations and a ton of other ordinances are perfomed as well. One thing that I like to do is go on FamilySearch and find family names that I get to take to the temple. That way I get to babtise my own family that never got to! To me that’s really awesome.
