Hi I'm Diane Lake

I am the mother of four sons and the grandmother of fourteen grandchildren. I love to cook and ride my bicycle and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I love these roles and they make my life full and happy. I am also a friend and neighbor. I love people! I am social and outgoing. I am also very active. I love to snow ski in the winter and bicycle the rest of the year. I love to hike and be outside, enjoying the beauty around me. I also love to cook and to feed those I love. I love to read and learn new things. I enjoy gardening and growing flowers and vegetables. I adore children and love to be around them.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth in these latter days through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is an ancient record of the word of God to prophets on the American continent which was preserved by God to come forth in these latter days and was translated by the gift and power of God by Joseph Smith. It is another testament of Jesus Christ and supports the Bible. We also have revelation received since the restoration of the Gospel and it is contained in modern day scripture called the Doctrine and Covenants. The Pearl of Great Price is another book of scripture. I testify that all contain the word of God and testify of Jesus Christ, His ministry, and His atoning sacrifice for all mankind. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that He atoned for our sins so that we can gain eternal life and exaltation. I know that in the temples of God we receive eternal, life-saving ordinances. Also, that we can be sealed to our ancestors and our descendants, as husband and wife, for all eternity and have an eternal family. All the keys of the Priesthood of God have been restored to the earth and are held by a living prophet today, who leads the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He continues to receive revelation, as do the apostles of God, who serve with him. I know that if we are faithful and strive to live the commandments of God, we can return and live with God and Jesus Christ again. They live! They know each of us individually and hear and answer our prayers. We can, and do, receive personal revelation from them that blesses our lives by helping us through the challenges and adversities of this life. I was baptized when I was eight years old and my testimony has gradually grown throughout my life as I have learned more about the Gospel, line upon line, and have received blessings and guidance from the Lord.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being involved in the church and in the community. I love any opportunity to make a positive contribution. I think it's great to work with lots of different people and get to know them and to learn from them. I appreciate the talents and skills of others and feel blessed by my association with them. I love Jesus Christ and His Gospel and I am so grateful for the blessing that is in my life. I hope that I radiate that light to all I come in contact with. I have been serving in our Temple for a long time where we do sacred, eternal work for the living and the dead. It has been a huge blessing to me as it has helped me feel closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have also had the opportunity to work with young Cub Scouts and try to make a difference in their lives. I have thoroughly enjoyed this! Recently, we have served with the married students of our church, who attend the university near us. They are outstanding and have been a pleasure to associate with. We have learned so much as we have taught them and they have taught us. I think we have strengthened the faith and the testimonies of each other. We've planned, and carried out, numerous activities which have been a lot of fun! Our next adventure is to serve a mission for the Church. My husband and I will be moving to Europe for 18 months to share our love and testimonies with young single adults there.
