Hi I'm Maddie

I grew up in Houston, Texas. I attend Brigham Young University. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy dancing and have taken dance lessons since I was little. I especially love ballet. I also enjoy swimming, shopping, watching movies, camping, eating, and spending time with family and friends. I am the oldest child in my family and have 3 younger siblings. Throughout high school, I was involved in many clubs including Student Council, National Honor Society, and National Beta Club. I am currently attending college at Brigham Young University where I am majoring in accounting. I hope to graduate with an accounting degree and earn my CPA license.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and contains the fullness of the gospel. I grew up in a home where both my parents were members, so I was raised in the church. However, it was not until I was in middle school that I gained my own testimony of the gospel. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. God answered my prayers, and I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and truth testifying to me that it was true. After receiving a witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, I gained a testimony that the gospel was true. I did my best to live according to the principles taught in the Book of Mormon. As I strived to do so, I was happier. My life became full of joy and peace. Even though I still faced several challenges, I was able to endure and overcome my trials with the Lord's help. This gospel has brought so much hope, peace, love, and joy into my life, and I always want to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I attend a LDS congregation at Brigham Young University with other members of my faith who are my age each Sunday. I serve as a teacher at church and teach other women my age. I also participate in any activities my congregation plans including service activities. Furthermore, I regularly visit three women in my congregation and assist in caring for their needs. I live my faith by aligning my life with God's will. I am leaving in the summer to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philippines where I will share my testimony and knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with all who will listen. I enjoy giving service anywhere I can and try my best to serve in my community.
