Hi I'm Truman

I'm a Texan, I'm a guitarist, future missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Houston Texas, I lived there for 5 years. Soon after I moved to Utah where I picked up new hobby's such as skiing, soccer and guitar. I'm an eagle scout and I have worked as a camp counselor at many scout camps such as Camp Tracy and Bear Lake Aquatics Base. I grew to love backpacking and hiking and continue to go as often as I can. After living in Utah for 11 years I moved back to Texas! During these past few years in Texas I picked up a few new skills and interests such as, guitar restoration and computer programming and running. I recently received my mission call and I will be reporting to the Ribeirao Preto Brazil mission! After I complete my mission I look forward to going college and joining the Marines soon after.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I am a Mormon because I have read the book of Mormon and I have a testimony of it. I love the emphasis our church puts on having personal relation ship with our heavenly father and Jesus, through our prayer and scripture study. One benefit of being a member of the LDS religions is that you can have friends just about an where you are. When I moved back to Texas the first thing the members did was make sure my family was welcomed. My first year at the new high school was easy because I had already made friend ships with my peers in the first couple weeks. I love the temples and our focus on eternal family's. I have been able to find comfort in knowing that I will be with my family in the next life. I love this church and I'm grateful to be apart of it.

How I live my faith

As I prepare to become a missionary I do my best to fulfill all my duties as a Priest. I show up to all of my church sponsored activities, I do my best to read my scriptures every night. I look and actively participate in service projects. I try to be an example to the younger children who are still a few years behind me by making sure all my actions are appropriate.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Truman
Chastity is defined as the state or practice of refraining from extramarital or especially from all sexual relations outside of the bonds of marriage. As members of the church we strive to avoid situations that can lead to sexual temptation. We practice abstinence before marrage and maintain true and honest relationships when we are married. Buy following the rules set by the church we bring blessings into our life such as peace, happiness, self-respect/worth and have a higher capacity to feel the Spirit and God's love.
