Hi I'm Kolby

I grew up on a ranch in Idaho, I am a dancer, performer, and most importantly, I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Kolby, I was born and raised knowing the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I live on a small ranch in Idaho, where my family raises cows and horses. I have also been a ballroom dancer for 7 years i love dancing and it is my way of sharing my passion with others. Another way I love to share passion with others is through sharing the gospel, I love the church and the beautiful Plan of Happiness it follows. I am excited to serve a full-time mission to the Jamaica Kingston Mission this July!

Why I am a Mormon

As I said previously, I was born to a family who already knew of the gospel, but I am a Mormon because of the incredible blessings I have been given, through attendance to church and living gospel principals. recently I had an experience that strengthened my testimony and confirmed to me even more the truth and power behind the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was in a very stressful and trying time last year. I had having a very difficult summer and felt like I was worthless, I felt as if I had failed in every aspect of my life and that I could not possibly be worth the Savior or anyone else's love. My feelings came to a breaking point one night in a foreign country when I was all alone. My entire body became covered in large red hives and I began to feel sharp pains all over my body in what I would later learn was a stress induced allergic reaction. With no family to turn too and no one who even spoke my language nearby I collapsed on the floor and cried out to my Heavenly Father. I confessed how I had been feeling and all of the burdens of my heart. I plead with him to grant me peace and too ease my pain and take away my suffering. My prayer was answered. As I closed my prayer my pain ceased. I felt the need to open my journal, and there at the bottom of each page was a scripture, the page I had turned to bore the words; "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful..." (Matt 25:21) These words immediately put my mind at ease and allowed me to relax. for the first time in months I felt true peace and felt confident I had done my best in the face of my trials. I am a Mormon because I have felt the power of Christ's loving Atonement. I have seen the blessings that come from abiding by God's commandments. I have been comforted by the words of his living prophets and apostle's. I am a Mormon, because the Savior has shown me His love, and I never want to stray from His flock. I know God lives, and I bear my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the church all of my life, so I have had many experiences serving and teaching the gospel. I have been teaching in Sunday school classes and giving talks in meetings for several years and I have found incredible inspiration and comfort through serving in my ward! I have had so many experiences where as I prepare for lessons I have received special spiritual guidance not only for my lesson or talk but for my life and how I will prepare for my future.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kolby
Christ suffered and died for us. He performed the greatest act of love in all mortal and eternal history by giving his life for each one of us to be made whole. John 15:13 states; Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. The Atonement was, is, and always will be the foundation of God's perfect plan for His children. Jesus Christ's willing sacrifice and divine love ensured that if we act on faith, repent of our sins, and endure to the end we will have eternal life and be able to live with God forever.
