Hi I'm Jacob

I am a high school graduate, love hiking, an aspiring writer, and math nerd. Plus, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Arkansas, USA. I've just been accepted to Brigham Young University-Provo and I am really excited to start a very new part of my life. I've also just received my call to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I hope to do well in a double major of Chemistry and Psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew in a single parent family where it was just my mom and I. When I was about 3 years old, my mom met and befriended my daycare worker who turned out to be a Mormon. How I live my faith

Right now, I am a assistant leader of a group of young men aged 16-18 and assist in teaching them during our meetings on Sundays. I also have the privilege to teach two families outside of our usual Sunday meetings in what we call "home teaching".

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, Jesus Christ taught to act with love and kindness to all of our Heavenly Father's children, not just the ones who have decided to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A perfect example of this was His "Parable of the Good Samaritan". The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or LDS for short, has made it a priority to help those in need through financial and material assistance in more than 160 countries world-wide. The 53,000 LDS missionaries that are currently serving throughout the world are there to specifically serve those who are not a member of the LDS church. Show more Show less
