Hi I'm Amelia

I love pizza. I laugh at everything. I have a bowl of cereal every night before bed. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and am a true Cali girl at heart. But, when i went to college in Virginia, i fell in love with the East Coast too! Now, I am a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Colorado, Fort Collins mission. And guess what?! I love this part of the US too!! (It is SO possible to be happy wherever you go!) In school, I studied music, nursing, and english. I want to be able to care for others' needs as much as I possibly can, and I know the blessings and comfort that I have found in playing and listening to music and I want to teach others how to find that as well. I study english, well, just because I love it!! As you can probably tell, I love being around others and making them happy. That is the foundation for my career goals and the reason why I am serving a full-time mission! Because I know how people can find joy, I want to share it with as many people as I possibly can. As for me, I try to enjoy life as much as possible, so I'm often munching on some pizza, petting a cat, singing or dancing to a song, or going outside to explore nature (and, 99% of the time, I am laughing while doing so).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel keeps me happy! It is a rock that's keeps my easily-distracted mind from becoming overwhelmed or exhausted. The gospel has led me to the greatest blessings and opportunities in my life, and I would not change it for anything! Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father have done everything for our happiness and joy, so read the scriptures, pray, and do whatever else it is that makes you happy. The world is a busy and frantic place and the gospel keeps me sane, joyful, and peaceful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing my testimony with others, singing or playing hymns, and teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I use my faith in Jesus Christ to keep me grounded in my frantic and busy life. I love playing hymns in church and I enjoy hearing a congregation sing to it. It increases my testimony and encourages me to continue on in life.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Amelia
The Gift of the Holy Ghost and the influence of the spirit will lead you to some amazing blessings. The Holy Ghost has many jobs, including comforter, guide, and teacher. The Holy Ghost is a comforter and leads us to feel peace and joy during times of distress, if we make righteous choices. Through prayer, He "will not leave you comfortless: [He will come to you" (John 14:18). The Holy Ghost also works as a guide for us. If we are concerned or confused, He will lead us the right way. On the other hand, He will warn us and direct away from something that isn't for us. Lastly, the Holy Ghost acts as a teacher. If we "ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things" (Moroni 10:4-5). If you have a question, whether insignificant or major, and you pray for it fervently, it will be answered. The Holy Ghost works hard to help Heavenly Father's children in many ways and He is ready and willing to help you. Show more Show less
