Hi I'm Cody

I love learning. I enjoy playing music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As of now, I am a graduate from high school and am on a fulltime mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've enjoyed the education I've gotten out of high school. I've been able to grow up in a great and prepare for the fields of study. It is my intention after the mission to go to a university and study Mechanical Engineering. I have a dream of becoming a professor in or around that field of study. One of the greatest hobbies is music. I enjoy playing fun pieces on the piano, love Jazzing out on the trombone, and had the opportunity to sing in one of the greatest high school choirs ever. I enjoy major sports hobbies like fourwheeling, wakeboarding, and rockclimbing. I do also run a 5k every so often. My life has always been a learning one and I hope to continue that throughout the rest of my years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in the church. I mostly took it for granted until I was 15. At that point, I started to see how being in the church was making my life better. It became the way I wanted to live my life. My testimony over the years has grown slowly line upon line. The major times it has grown has been in deep testimony meetings, seeing miracles that have taken place in my community, and when I have felt peace in times of despair. I love this gospel and want to forever be a part of it. I know as I follow the teachings and show faith, I can return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

As of now, I live my faith through serving a mission. In this role I serve the Lord 24/7 by helping others receive the restored gospel through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. A lot of what I do as a missionary includes serving others, teaching investigators of the church, and studying gospel principles.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

2 reasons I can think of. One is that any church in the world we live today needs funds to function. Tithing provides church members places of worship, temples, books and other church material. The funds received are used in the most efficient manner possible. Reason 2 is that it is a commandment given by God. Tithing is a means to test our faith and trust in him. As we pay tithing, he his bound to bless us. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

A prophet serves until physical death takes him away. The most senior apostle then becomes the next prophet. The apostles in the first place are chosen through revelation. It is the Lord's will of who becomes the prophet as far as who he sets in what place. The events unfold as he sees fit. This man, his 2 counselors, and the quorum of the 12 Apostles together give direction to the church and make choices together. Show more Show less
