Hi I'm Melonie

I am Auntie M to 8 nieces and nephews, I love to cook, I love to read, I crochet, I help others, I am a gamer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Masters degree in Business administration with an emphasis in Healthcare management. I love to read, cook out, watch general conference, crochet, do counted cross stitch, and be an Aunt to my 8 nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Book of Mormon is a record of God's dealings with his people here on the American Continent. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God. I know that we have a living prophet today that leads and guides us with what our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ wants us to know today. I know that Jesus Christ is at the head of this church and guides us though our prophets.

How I live my faith

I am a visiting teacher district supervisor and I am the Single Adult Representitive for my ward. Because of these callings I have the privilege of calling others sisters in my ward and talking about the needs of those they teach. I also get to talk to the other singles that are in my ward and share with them the activities that are going on to help us grow closer to our savior.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Melonie
We are normal like any other women in the world. Absolutely men and women are equal in the church. Men and woman have different roles in the church but that doesn't mean that we are not equal. I can be called to teach Sunday School or primary just like a man can be called to teach the same class. It is true that there are some misconceptions about the roles of Men and Women in the church but that is what they are misconceptions. It is true that women do NOT hold the priesthood in the church but there is a reason for that but that doesn't mean that a woman is any less than the man. Just like the Apostle Paul taught in the bible, "neither is the man without the woman, neither is the woman without the man, in the Lord." We are each equally important in all of the aspects of the church. The family is critical as we are all the family of God. The husband and the wife are equal partners as parents in the raising, nurturing and even disciplining of the children. Show more Show less
