Hi I'm Erik

I grew up in Canada. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am situated in the middle of five boys. I love to read fantasy and science-fiction novels in my spare time and equally enjoy playing games and watching movies with my family. I make replica props and armor, love to learn, and enjoy applying what I learn to reality. I have driven across Canada and the USA's northern and western states and have been to several European nations such as Hungary, Nederland, Austria, and France.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents were both converts and it was mandatory to attend the meetings on Sunday. While there I kept learning about the Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ, and Heavenly Father. About all the commandments, all the things we are asked to do, and all the stuff we should keep away from. As I got older I began to see the wisdom in the council offered in the church. Things that seemed minor or dumb as a child made worlds of sense. Not just after learning in school, but also having seen the difference in others. I still try to obey the council given by past and modern prophets (because they certainly are), but now for a different, better reason. At a general conference there was a speaker who said that if I just lived the gospel, I would gain a testimony of it. So I started following the guidelines more closely, with what the scriptures called 'real intent'. Now I find that if I do the things taught by the church, I recognise the change is good, and then can say it's true.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attend church every Sunday. I teach the Sunbeams. Which is the name for the Sunday school class of children 3-4 years old. When I am not doing so, I am attending my meetings.
