Hi I'm Anny

I'm the seventh of eight children. I've been a mailman, dental assistant and cashier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, write, play the piano, enjoy music and watch movies. I always joke that in a perfect world I would be a film or book critic. I am an awful cook but I'm not half bad at baking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I am attending Utah State University and majoring in English, for now anyway.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in this church but I didn't always have a testimony. It has taken me many years of studying the scriptures and recognizing the spirit to come to know my own testimony. It has only been through God's help and guidance that I am able to go on a mission to South Houston, Texas. If it were solely up to me, a mission would not be in my future but part of this gospel is knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me and has a better plan for me than I have for myself. So I will serve a mission as He has asked me to do because I know this gospel is true. I have felt the peace and comfort that come from acting on our Savior's atonement. I know that the Book of Mormon contains important truths for me and for everyone. I know that this church was restored by Joseph Smith and that we are lead by a modern prophet today. I may not know everything that God has planned for me but I do know that what I believe isn't because someone told me to believe it. It is because I have prayed and found out for myself.

How I live my faith

Living my faith consists of a lot of service. Service doesn't have to be big organizations or grandiose acts. It is the small and consistent moments that are spent for someone else instead of me. Different callings, quite a few of them having to do with music, have taught me that God is aware of us and knows what we are capable of, even when we don't know it ourselves. As a member, I dedicate a lot of my time to visiting others, planning activities to bring my family or friends closer to Christ, setting Monday nights aside for 'Family home evening' where we are able to grow closer as a family or single adult group to our Savior and a whole slew of other things designed to help me.
