Hi I'm Jana

I'm a Mormon. I live in beautiful Saint George, Utah.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of five beautiful children, four sons and one daughter. I am attending college in my 50's to earn my degree. I have a yorkie puppy named Boomer and a fat cat named Garfield. I love to spend time with my family. I love the ocean, the mountains and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family to great parents who were active in the church, had been sealed in the temple, and were striving to live the gospel and teach it to myself and my three siblings. When I was 14 years old, my entire life changed. After a trip to see the Manti Pageant with my mother, her friend, two of my siblings, and my mother’s friend’s three children, we were on our way to a spend a wonderful week at a cabin on Panguitch Lake. On the steep, dirt road leading down to the lake, the brakes on our truck gave out, causing us to leave the road and roll off the steep hillside. All six of us children were in the camper shell on the back of the truck and the three smallest children were killed instantly as the truck rolled. In that moment, I lost my eight-year-old brother and two of my best friends, and my life changed forever as my family seemed to continue to fall apart over the next year. My parents divorced, my older brother left the church, and my sister and I grew apart as I moved out to live with my father. During this time in my life, I drew closer to my Heavenly Father and clung to the teachings of the Gospel. My family was being torn apart, but I knew through the fullness of the gospel that our families could be together forever. I knew I would see my brother again. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we can all repent, become clean through the covenant of baptism, have the spirit to guide us and comfort us, and in this way we can have happiness throughout our lives. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father who sent his son to atone for our sins. I know that the fullness of His gospel has been restored to the earth to bless all of His children on this Earth. I know that if I live faithful to my covenants and endure to the end, I can return and live with Heavenly Father, Jesus and my family forever.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by volunteering in my community, teaching my children to be good citizens, living my beliefs, and not judge others.
