Hi I'm Grant

I grew up in Orlando, Florida. I go to school at Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Grant and I was born in San Fransisco, California but was raised most of my life in Orlando, Florida where my father works for Walt Disney World. I am the oldest of four children in my family. I received my Eagle Scout award in high school and was a four year varsity lacrosse player and captain. I love sports, boating, hiking, and being outdoors! I go to school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where I am pursuing my degree in Political Science and my minor in Business. I hope to either attend Law School or Business School after I receive my undergraduate degree. I will be taking a break from school to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in the Spain Málaga Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I did not always have the testimony that I do today. When you grow up as a Mormon, for a long time you feed off of the testimonies of your parents and church leaders. At least that is what I did. I never thought that the things I was being taught growing up weren't true, but I never truly had a testimony of them for myself. However, that was until I left for college. College was a hard transition and I could no longer rely spiritually on my parents anymore. I got to a point where I felt alone. I felt as if I had no one I could turn to. No one who would understand what I was going though and the feelings I was having. Until I realized I wasn't actually alone. I had the Savior who was walking beside me and helping along the way. He was who I could turn to. He knew exactly what I was feeling and he was there to comfort me. As I read the Book of Mormon and turned to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in prayer, I was filled with peace and was comforted. I was no longer alone. I was no longer sad. As I began to experience the peace and joy that the gospel brought to my life, I was immediately comforted. As I truly became converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ, there was nothing that I wanted to do more than to share that with everyone that I met. That is why I decided to serve as a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in the Spain Málaga Mission where I will have the opportunity to share the happiness that the gospel brings to the people of Spain! Why am I a Mormon? Because the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only path to which we can find true peace and joy in this life. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the face of the earth. I know the gospel was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith and I know through the power of God, he translated the Book of Mormon. I know it is true. I love this gospel. I love my Savior and I know that through him we can find true happiness.

How I live my faith

Being a member of Christ's restored gospel is very much a way of life. We are supposed to serve him and our fellow man in all aspects of life. As I attend church every Sunday and perform my responsibilities as a member of His church, I can draw closer to him. As I fulfill my duties as a home teacher and visit the members of my congregation each week and see how I can better serve them is simply one way that I strive to emulate my savior and live his gospel. I work every day to find new ways to better live my life and live this gospel through reading the scriptures and communicating with my father in heaven through prayer. As a member of Christ's gospel, I try to be be more and more obedient every day and find ways to be and example of Jesus Christ.
